Pick a session and watch it back — every car's position on the circuit, second by second, from public timing data going back to 2018.
Tap a car, or a row in the tower, to follow it — it gets named and everything
else steps back. Each car drags seven seconds of trail in its own team colour, so you can read the shape
of the pack rather than a field of dots.
The feed only reports a genuinely new position about once a second per car, which at racing speed is
most of a corner. The motion between those points is interpolated along the circuit, not across
the map: every fix is stored as a distance around the lap plus a sideways offset, so a car can only ever
move along the track. It cannot cut an apex even when the replay is running at forty times
speed. The reported positions are real; the path between them is derived. Where the feed loses a car
entirely the trail stops rather than inventing one, and a car that genuinely stops moving is in the pits
or out.
Every driver's gap to the leader, lap by lap — the whole race in one picture. A line dropping off a cliff is a pit stop. Two lines glued together is a fight nobody won. A line crossing another between stops is a strategy call that did. Tap a driver to isolate them.
Every position gain the driver still held a lap later, dropped where the timing feed put the car. A further — are not shown: they were reported as the cars crossed the start/finish loop, which is where the sensor is rather than where the pass was — plotting those would stack a false hotspot on the main straight. Transient swaps mid-pit-cycle are excluded too; they were never passes. Lapped traffic is still counted, so read this as places gained on track, not wheel-to-wheel duels.
